The Poble Espanyol, built in 1929 for the Barcelona World Exposition, is a unique architectural experiment offering examples of architecture from fifteen Spanish regions. The idea was to gather all the different kinds of Spanish architecture under one "roof", as this showed the country's rich cultural variety. It is home to craft workshops, the Fran Daurel Foundation – with a collection of over 300 works of contemporary art (including works by Picasso, Dalí and Miró) – and a wide range of restaurants, shows and shops and lively atmosphere of Barcelona. It offers an interactive experience with Spanish culture through it's many market stalls, boutiques, architecture and environment. A real life cultural exhibition.
